Perpendiculairement au mur, un morceau de bois manufacturé d’une longueur de 70cm est fixé et assemblé à un autre morceau de bois confectionné en un pantin ; encastré et suspendu par le nez. Une circline est enfilée à la poutre et emprisonne le pantin; elle donne l’image d’une auréole.
Le pantin porte une robe-chemise de tissu blanc retroussée jusqu’au bassin qui laisse entrevoir l’habit rouge et vert du personnage de fiction Pinocchio ; un enfant objet réalisé par un menuisier qui voit son nez s’allonger à chacun de ses mensonges, et finit un beau jour par se transformer en véritable petit garçon.
Pinocchio, pris par son nez, otage de ses propres mensonges questionne le statut de l’artiste ; entre ‘‘vérité et tromperie’’ comment peut-on devenir le tortionnaire de l’autre ? L’art peut-il révéler plus que ce qui nous est donné à voir (à travers les journaux, les médias...)?

A SIMPLE PIECE OF WOOD IN A SCULPTOR’S STUDIO, WALL SCULPTURE 2019

Perpendicular to the wall, a piece of 70cm long manufactured wood is fixed and assembled to another piece of wood turned into a puppet; built-in and suspended by the nose. A circline is strung on the beam and imprisons the puppet; it gives the impression of a halo.
The puppet wears a white fabric shirt dress rolled up to the pelvis, revealing the red and green clothe of the fictional character Pinocchio; a child object made by a carpenter who sees his nose lengthen with each of his lies, and ends up one fine day by transforming into a real little boy.
Pinocchio, caught by his nose, hostage to his own lies, questions the artist's status; between "truth and deception" how can one become the torturer of the other? Can art reveal more than what is shown to us (through newspapers, the media ...)?
